First Look: 2013 Ford Fusion

Dearborn, Mich.  – By looks alone, Ford appears to have a major hit on its hands with the new generation Fusion and that seems even more likely when the new technologies and fuel efficiency is factored in.

The stylish new Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima have been two of the mid-level sedans that have caught our eye the last couple of years, and they obviously swayed buyers, too, because the sales of those two cars have skyrocketed.  This new Fusion looks even better than those cars, especially in person. It is unquestionably the most beautiful Ford Fusion ever to be produced; showcasing the “New Face of Ford” look that will dominate and influence future Ford vehicles. Ford Readies First Pure Electric

With zero-CO2-emissions and an expected 100 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) fuel efficiency Ford is getting ready to plug into the grid with its first fully electric car, the Focus Electric. The Focus Electric is the flagship of Ford’s high efficiency lineup offering fuel conscious drivers what Ford calls, the “Power of Choice” in a virtual smorgasbord of high efficiency Focus vehicles.

This technology can help double the car’s range during a busy day of driving and recharging multiple times.  Read the rest of this entry »

Test Drive: Ford F-150 EcoBoost

We are not normally fans of full-size pickups; however, it’s hard not to appreciate the smooth quiet ride, plush comfortable interiors and brute power of many luxurious new truck models.  The trade-off for us is poor fuel economy, massive size and they don’t handle as well as we’d like, especially on the curvy mountain roads in our area.

The new Ford F-150 EcoBoost has gone a long way to changing our minds about large pickups.  Traditionally full-size truck buyers flock to the big V-8s like Ford’s 360-hp 5.0-liter V-8 and 411-hp, 6.2-liter V-8.  When Ford introduced the twin turbo 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost in the F-150, there was much head shaking.  It was a gamble in a market dominated by large V-8s, but it has paid off big time with the EcoBoost and the naturally aspired 302-hp, 3.7-liter V-6 ending up in more than 50 percent of the Ford trucks sold the last few months. Test Drive: 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302

“Ford’s Mustang Boss 302 : The legend returns”

Now a thoroughly modern street-legal race machine

The 1969 Mustang Boss 302 is perhaps one of the most sought after examples of American muscle or performance cars in collector car circles. Good news performance junkies – Ford put together a team of engineers, designers and stylists to recreate the iconic Boss Mustang by specifically modifying the GT model Mustang to what may well be its purest form. Every facet of the GT was examined and analyzed, then each system was strengthened, lightened and refined resulting in the production of the new, limited production 2012 Mustang Boss 302, which is for all intents and purposes, a street-legal race car that’s destined to become a performance legend in its own right, just like the original, only better.
