Lamborghini released its newest super car: the Aventador LP-700. Named for, as Lamborghini put it, “one of the most courageous bulls.” The Aventador takes Lamborghini’s already space-age technology and performance into the new decade in a serious way.

The Aventador features an all-new 6.5-liter 700-horsepower V12 engine, a super-fast shifting transmission with Independent Shifting Rods, and a carbon-fiber monocoque. This Italian insanity sled will take you from 0-62 MPH in 2.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 217. So forget your Rogaine, ’cause this thing will tear your hair out.

The first Aventador customers will receive delivery late summer 2011 but you can start drooling now.

Aston Martin announced the launch of its newest model at the Geneva Auto Show next week: The Virage. As the newest Aston GT car, the Virage will be place between the DB9 and DBS and will include a Volante derivation.

The Virage will be powered by Aston’s front-mounted V12, producing 490 horsepower and 420 foot pounds of torque, bolted to their Touchtronic II automatic transmission. Paired with a carbon fiber drive shaft, Aston has achieved a 50:50 weight ratio with the Virage.

At the Geneva show Aston will also launch two other new vehicles: The V8 Vantage S and the Cygnet city car.
